With the aim to enrich the apps development skills of Students of the Department of CSE, Britannia University, a daylong workshop entitled “Beginners Guide to Android Apps Development” held on 9th November 2023 at the university campus.
In the workshop, Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya, Vice Chancellor was present as the Chief Guest. The session was chaired by Mr. Mozammel Haque, Chairman, Department of CSE, and hosted and coordinated by Md. Zahidur Rahman, faculty member department of CSE.
At the beginning of the session, host introduced the Mentor to all participants. He invited honorable Vice-Chancellor of Britannia University, Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya to deliver his speech. He delivered his speech focuses on arranging such kind of programs consistently in future to develop skills in certain areas like Apps Development, Competitive Programming, Robotics and AI Project development etc. He hopes CSE department can bring success in various contests (in nationally & internationally) like it did in the past.
The workshop focused on developing mobile apps in Android using Google Firebase as its database. Mr. Md. Kowsar Hossain, Android Apps Developer and alumni of the department, served as the mentor of the workshop. He covered the following subtopics: Development of an app in the Android Studio, Real-time Database connection with Google Firebase, how to live an Android App, how to open a Google Admob Account and how to publish an app to Google Play Store.
In question-answering session, Mentor responded to all of the queries made by the students. He provided some resources to the students and motivated them to start the app development.
The Session Chair, Mr. Mozammel Haque, Chairman of the Department of CSE, Britannia University thanked the mentor and other participants for attending the workshop. He made a summary on several skills and aspects mentioned by the mentor to be achieved to become successful in developing a career in the apps development sector. He instructed students to grab and utilize the opportunity to develop their skills.
The session ended with thanks to the students and guests by the host Mr. Md. Zahidur Rahman, Faculty, Department of CSE.
