Seminar on “The Critical Role of Forensic Accountants for Unmasking Financial Deception”

An enthusiastic and dynamic seminar titled “The Critical Role of Forensic Accountants for Unmasking Financial Deception” was held on 16th May, 2024 by the Department of Business Studies (DBS). The seminar was started with the welcoming speech of Ms. Khaleda Akter, Lecturer, Dept of Business Studies (DBS). The keynote Speaker, Ms. Israt Jahan Ruma, Lecturer, Dept of Business Studies (DBS) presented her resourceful presentation by highlighting the Forensic Accounting through triangle model, key criteria of an accountant, the activities, areas of forensic accountant. She also discussed about the fraudulence of different financial institutions, online based shopping platforms and focused the role of a forensic accountant through an interactive approach among the students. The keynote speaker presented different benefits of having a forensic accountant in an organization like timely detection, preservation of crucial evidence, asset recovery, reputation protection, proactive risk management, etc. She also added the necessity and limitations of appointing a forensic accountant in an organization.The students of all batches of BBA programme were present along with the faculty members of the Department of Business Studies (DBS). Prof. Dr. Surajit Sarbabidya, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies and Chairman of the Department of Business Studies ( DBS) chaired the seminar as session chair. He delivered his insightful, informative and enlightening speech towards the students. The seminar was coordinated by Ms. Farzana Tabassum Rimu, Lecturer, Dept of Business Studies (DBS). The session has been accomplished through the vote of thanks to all the students, faculties and the session chair by Ms. Khaleda Akter, Lecturer, Dept of Business Studies (DBS).
